Job Summary
Provides technical assistance in the loading, shipping, and/or storage of solid, liquid, hazardous, radioactive, and/or mixed wastes. Specific duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to, handling drums and/or other containers of waste, operating forklifts and/or other mechanical loading/handling equipment and keeping and tracking related documents to assure compliance.
Primary responsibilities will be decontamination, decommissioning, and demolition of process equipment used at all Weapons Production and Supporting Facilities. Will also assist with routine room wipe-down activities and decontamination services to reduce risk to programmatic operations. Work may be scheduled on the swing shift. All team members participate in preparing, reviewing, and working to approved work-authorizing documents.
What You Need:
Educational Requirements:
Position typically requires a high school diploma and one-to-two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Requirements:
· Hazwopper certification.
· Rad Worker II certification.
· Respirator qualification and ability to lift at least 35 pounds.
· Q-clearance preferred or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Q-clearance.

This position requires a Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New‐Employment Drug Test:
The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new‐employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
