Nourishing Louisiana - Partnerships and Fundraising VISTA Job at AmeriCorps
St. Vincent de Paul of New Orleans is a volunteer-driven nonprofit which has worked to support people challenged by poverty in the Greater New Orleans region since 1865 through the provision of emergency financial assistance, case management, and access to education, food, and basic needs. We are excited to implement our VISTA program, Nourishing Louisiana, which aims to reduce disparities in access to food and healthcare in impoverished communities across Southeast Louisiana. With crucial support and mentorship from talented VISTA Leaders, Nourishing LA VISTA Members will have 2 key goals: building capacity at established food distribution sites to meet an increasing demand through volunteer recruitment and community outreach; and building partnerships with local community health organizations to bring mobile health services and education to food distribution sites. SVDP New Orleans aims to break the cycle of poverty by decreasing barriers to crucial basic needs for Louisiana’s most vulnerable residents.
Member Duties : Develop and implement fundraising initiatives that align with project goals. Research local and national grant and sponsorship opportunities and coordinate with grant writer. Capture and share impact stories with donors, foundations, and sponsors. Coordinate digital fundraising campaigns to support project sustainability. Build relationships with key stakeholder organizations, develop new partnerships, and strengthen existing partnerships. Maintain relationships with existing partners while also collaborating with Outreach VISTAs on identifying potential new partners in all program service areas. Connect and build relationships with nonprofits, service providers, and other stakeholders that can support program goals and betterment of community overall. Develop Community Resource Sharing quarterly zoom meetings to bring community partners together and share updates on services and challenges in their areas of work.
