THIS APPLICATION IS ONLY FOR PERSONS WHO ARE NOT ON THE CURRENT 2022-23 APPROVED SUBSTITUTE LIST.
- It is the desire of the Port Neches-Groves Independent School District to have substitute teachers who hold Texas Teaching Certificates. Non-certified substitute teachers are used when certified substitutes are unavailable. In pursuit of this aim, three classifications of substitute teachers are maintained.
- A Class I substitute is one who holds a four-year degree and certified to teach in the public schools of Texas
- A Class II substitute is one who has a four-year degree but is not certified
- A Class III substitute is one has neither the four-year degree nor certificate
- Associate degrees are classified as Class III*
Official approval will be given when all necessary transcripts, certificates and forms have been submitted and mandatory attendance at the substitute in-service has been verified.
Only approved substitutes will be made eligible for substitute teaching.
