Summary:
The Engineer, New Product Development is responsible for working with their manager to assist guiding the Product Development Group in the design and implementation of broadly-based research and development projects for new and improved Industrial Filtration product forms. This group, along with other segments of the Corporate Technology Branch, serve as a control point of materials research and development for affiliates throughout the world.
The development group also provides technical support to Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing and Customers.
This position works closely with Marketing, Sales, QA and Manufacturing and at times Engineering and Finance to develop and implement the Product Development programs for Alkegen. Product development programs include those directly intended to grow the Industrial Filtration Business.
Reports to the Manager, New Product Development.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to perform the duties Living the Alkegen Values of Grow, Go Fast, Be Passionate, Be Bold, and always doing the right thing at all times.
- Works closely with Marketing, Manufacturing and Sales teams to identify, quantify and assess required resources for new product opportunities.
- Uses team oriented interpersonal skills to achieve team objectives.
- Assists with strategic direction.
- Prioritizes projects based on the company and the market environment.
- Reviews project progress, budgets, and reassesses priorities on a quarterly basis.
- Works to continuously improve the efficiency and success to the New Product Development system.
- Handles technical support to Marketing, Sales and Manufacturing functions.
- Provide recommendations for safe equipment operation and appropriate application of available technology.
- Provides bench, laboratory, pilot, and production plant field trial for process and product development projects.
Qualifications:
Breadth of Knowledge (as opposed to depth of knowledge) of a specialty area is required.
Proficient in Adaptive Coaching skills of listening, asking, and responding.
