Job Summary:

The Reimbursement Analyst II, under the direction of the Network Reimbursement Director, provides third party reimbursement support to the Bassett Healthcare Network under financial management services agreements. In this role, the analyst is required to understand and apply knowledge of third party reimbursement systems including, Medicare, Medicaid and all other third party payors. The position is responsible for an understanding of billing, CPT coding application and accounting systems and performing routine regulatory financial impact analysis. Responsibilities include all daily activities related to aspects of federal and state cost reporting related audits, development of net revenue forecast models for budget, assisting in the Finance Department monthly general ledger closing process, performing third party contractual analysis, formulating contract payment strategies and assisting in the maintenance of the hospital’s chargemaster (charge creep reviews and cost- charge analysis). The position is required to adhere to departmental guidelines set for by the department Director. Failure to file timely or correct federal or state reports have negative implications to cash flow and each network organization’s bottom line and so successful performance on the part of the incumbent directly impacts the financial performance of Bassett Healthcare Network and acts as a reliable resource to Reimbursement functions wherein the Network Director or overseeing director are unavailable.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration Experience: · One to three years of experience in health care reimbursement is required.· Must possess significant day-to-day experience related to healthcare reimbursement and systems: a strong degree of expertise in payor revenue modeling at a hospital finance department level and leading a Federal/State Cost Report filings and audits for an institution with multiple ancillary disciplines. Licensure/Certificates: HC-Pro, QHR or HFMA certification must be obtained within 2 years from date of hire Skills: · Must have excellent written and verbal communications.· Must possess excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with outside fiscal and regulatory agencies and department managers within the hospital.· Must possess seasoned business judgment, critical to determining prioritization of issues and desirable actions to be taken in response to issues identified. · Must demonstrate highly polished analytical skills with the ability not only to extract and analyzing data, but to provide outcomes and decision tools from this data. · Must understand and interpret and react to CMS and New York Department of Health policies, third party payor methodologies, regulatory and compliance issues, charge capture and billing processes.· An in-depth understanding of integrated health network business processes and an understanding of finance at a top-side level.· It is intended that the skill set attained by a Reimbursement analyst would provide a wide Career Ladder and enable the incumbent for multiple positions in the range of Network Director or Director within Finance. Physical Requirements: · The position requires working with detailed reports and data entry into a personal computer for extensive periods of time.
