Manages natural gas scheduling and staff for Sempra's southeast assets, which includes the coordination of receipts and deliveries of gas between suppliers, producers, marketers, pipelines and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Thorough understanding of storage and transportation contracts, contract entitlements, receipt and delivery points, and capacities, to correctly schedule according to contracts.
- Responsible for oversight of confirmations of gas schedules on various pipelines & storage facilities to ensure delivery of contracted gas supplies.
- Advanced knowledge in the tariffs and regulations governing respective pipelines and storage operators as well as associated FERC compliance.
- Reviews and monitors electronic flow measurement data for Company receipt and delivery points and adjusts schedules in order to minimize imbalances.
- Coordinate closely with the control operators to remedy all imbalances, cuts and volume discrepancies.
- Monitors pipeline electronic bulletin boards for critical information including operational restrictions and communicates pertinent information to operational personnel and management.
- Develops and implements business processes and procedures for natural gas scheduling-related best practices.
- Develops solutions to a variety of scheduling issues of critical scope and complexity.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or Accounting
- Minimum 7 years of experience with natural gas procurement, trading, and optimization
- Thorough understanding of natural gas grid, gas flow, storage and transport segmentation.
- A strong working knowledge of Gulf Coast US North American natural gas pipeline and storage scheduling operations and constraints.
- Must display versatility, quick problem solving, handle multiple demands, and ability to work effectively with a variety of individual personalities.
- Experience scheduling natural gas
