JOB SUMMARY: This position is located at the Liberty Center which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida.

MAJOR DUTIES: Assists in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating base-wide Liberty programs and activities for active duty single sailors between the ages of 18-25. Some overnight travel will be required for trips taken out of the Jacksonville area.
Acts as Supervisor in the absence of the Manager. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility complete with internet computers and recreational equipment. Assists in the supervision of employees.
May assist in the interviewing and selection of new employees, evaluation of job performance and termination of any assigned personnel who fail to meet job requirements. Assists in maintaining training program for personnel. Explains work procedures and creates schedules. Monitors security of the facility.
Responsible for end shift processing to include running of daily, weekly, and monthly reports, maintains files of sales records and accountable documents.
Incumbent will also be responsible for front desk operations to include: Greets patrons, checks out equipment and conducts informal “how to” lessons on any equipment that the patron does not know how to operate. Provides basic information by phone and in person and assists patrons with facility usage ensuring facility areas are being properly utilized. Records daily attendance in all areas, registers participants for special events, classes, trips and other activities. Issues, inspects and inventories activity equipment daily. Performs general housekeeping duties as needed throughout the facility. Ensures the facility is opened at correct time and/or ensures that it is secured at the completion of the day’s operation.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Must be able to read and interpret guidelines, instructions and policies established specifically for the Liberty Program.
Ability and knowledge to market programs and motivate eligible patrons.
High school graduate is required. Minimum of 6 months of experience in a similar facility preferred. Prior management experience highly preferred.
Must have computer knowledge & be able to deal effectively with patrons of varied backgrounds.

Must be C.A.R.E(Controlling Alcohol Risks effectively) trained, hold an Emergency First Responder(EFR) or CPR First Aid certification and hold a current Food Handlers certification upon being place in the position OR be able to obtain these trainings/certifications within 90 days of being placed in the position.
