MRO/Indirect Purchasing/Buyer Specialist Job at Manpower Engineering
Manpower Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Purchasing Specialist for our client west of Nashville, TN. Will be managing the day-to-day system activities in support of the company's material management activities. Direct hire/perm position. 100% onsite, no hybrid option available.
What you'll be doing:
- Take ownership for MRO & Contracted Services
- Handle purchasing transactional work as assigned
- Attend plant meetings on behalf of the purchasing department
- Implement projects and drive savings within the assigned plant
- Work Cross Functionally with Operations, Engineering, MP&L, and other functional organizations
- Create detailed RFQs to support purchasing initiatives
- Work with the Strategic Purchasing team to help drive initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures
Who we're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associates at a minimum is required
- Looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing environment
- SAP experience is strongly preferred
- May occasionally go to a vendor but travel is not a requirement for the role
- Ability to think and act strategically
- Detail-oriented, ability to handle transactional work
- Works independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate quickly, clearly, and effectively across multiple levels of the organization, including orally presenting recommendations to Senior Management
