Job Description
SK Siltron CSS has an exciting opportunity at the Bay City Site in Bay City, MI for a Crystal Growth Modeling Engineer to contribute to building an established, international silicon carbide manufacturing business. This role will be devoted to process simulation, yield development, and project planning in support of single-crystal silicon carbide growth and fabrication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Create, update and maintain thermochemical simulations to reduce process variability and improve production output
- Assess process modifications as part of experimental planning
- Maintain production output by addressing process/equipment excursions
- Qualify and install new tools and equipment
- Own and troubleshoot processes, tools, and equipment
- Analyze and extract process and yield data
- Document scientific findings in archived reports
Required and Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or skilled trades training and 3 years experience at a minimum
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering preferred
- Knowledge of and experience with thermal, chemical and stress simulations
- Experience with and deep knowledge of finite element analysis or equivalent techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Background in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) or other equivalent Manufacturing Operations software is preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required
