The Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) focus is to provide engineering, technical and programmatic support to the Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems, Above Water Sensors (PEO IWS 2.0) Directorate. Efforts include overarching program management, test and evaluation, systems engineering, operations analysis, systems integration, international, cyber security, IT network and programmatic support for over 25 PEO IWS 2.0 advanced radar, phased array radar, electronic warfare, electro-optic, advanced off-board electronic warfare/decoy and directed energy programs.


SPA has an immediate opportunity for a Model Based Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Engineer to lead Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts for the Shipboard Panoramic Electro-Optic and Infrared (SPEIR) Program within the U.S. Navy Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS), Above Water Sensors and Lasers (IWS 2.0) programs.

You will lead MBSE efforts for the SPEIR program, including developing and maintaining models and linkages throughout various Government and Contractor developed models, as well as reviewing model deliveries and ensuring compliance with DoD standards and traceability to stakeholder requirements. You will directly report to the SPEIR Lead Systems Engineer and advise the SPEIR Assistant Program Manager. You will join a high performing team and be expected to develop a strong understanding of DoD, Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command and PEO IWS instructions and processes (e.g., DoD 5000).

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related technical degree.
  • At least 4 years of relevant systems engineering experience including demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering, UML/SysML, and/or Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
  • DoD Secret security clearance, and the ability to maintain it.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, and/or an Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional: OCSMP.
  • Experience in the Defense Industrial Base utilizing MBSE.
  • Familiarity with the DoD Acquisition process or experience working in a program office environment with documentation, protocols, formats and deadlines.
