Position Highlights:
The MMG Provider Documentation Educator will train the medical staff and APPS on proper documentation of evaluation and management services, and assist and train with charge capture software such as Patient Keeper. The MMG Provider Educator will support the surgeons by obtaining a thorough understanding of procedures performed and educate them on documentation required for compliant and accurate coding. Using analytics, they will also look for opportunities for revenue optimization. They will give regular feedback on cases coded and billed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide education of E&M leveling.
- Provide education on root cause of denials.
- Presentation and reporting.
- Develop Curriculum and training materials to support professional medical documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of professional coding experience and prior experience in a general healthcare setting.
- In lieu a Bachelor's degree, the following may be considered:
Minimum six (6) years of professional coding experience and minimum four (4) years in a general health care setting (for a total of 10 years).
Preferred:
- A throughout understanding and knowledge of ICD-10, PCC Coding rules, including Evaluation and Management coding guidelines.
- Experience with coding Oncology related services.
- Experience with Cerner, Soarian, Optum and 3M.
Certification Required:
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) required.
