Job Description
Milling Operator
SUMMARY: Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures while providing support and assistance to the Liquid Coatings and Dispersion Division’s operations. The Milling Operator is responsible for the day to day safe operations of the Milling Department including making power mix, operating forklift trucks and mobile equipment, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure/ assist in compliance to environmental, training, safety, transportation and all other regulations that the company must abide by while performing the following duties:
Responsible for making Paste products and all aspects of the milling department processes. Must accurately weigh all materials per product quality plan and, maintain good housekeeping. Report any variance in weighing or equipment to the supervisor so to maintain consistency in all mixes. Follow all job procedures as written in the Quality Assurance Manual. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- A basic understanding of the ACSI Mixing computer system.
- Able to learn to use
- Lifting 70 lbs of pail/bag and pushing/lifting light vat/drum
- Pushing/lifting heavy vat/drum with the help of equipment
- Experience of operating forklift truck preferred but will train if not
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school education or GED.
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: This position shall maintain compliance with Federal, State & Local OSHA (Occupational Health & Safety Administration) Regulations, EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), OEPA (Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, DOT (Department of Transportation regulations) at all times. The employee in this position shall maintain compliance with all Ferro Safety Standards as well as EHS rules/requirements of the site at all times.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical paint manufacture environment, including exposure to sharp edges, pinch points, powered rotating equipment, shavings, chips, dust, fumes, chemicals and noise. Safety glasses with side shields, hard hats, steel toed boots/shoes are required to be worn at all times in production areas.
