Large Ophthalmology and Optometry Practice has an opening for an experienced Medical Office Manager at our Chicago location. We are searching for candidates with prior medical office experience, preferably in an optical setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages all aspects of patient care, staffing, resource deployment, business growth and execution for the respective office assigned.
- Responsible for managing all office, clinical and administrative staff including supervision /execution of critical priorities and daily functions.
- Works in a collaborative way with doctors and staff to ensure excellent patient care.
- Coordinates with and supports doctors and staff by managing schedules, resolving patient and office issues and providing leadership and guidance to team members.
- Establishes a high-performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable, service-oriented, sharing responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice.
- Develops, implements and effectively communicates processes and procedures to establish a culture of accountability.
- Responsible for staff training and development including mentoring new office staff members.
- Regularly reviews patient issues and complaints to resolve quickly and efficiently.
- Regularly reports to and coordinates with the senior leadership team.
ESSENITAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong organizational skills including time management, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and patient care.
- Experience working in clinical, or medical setting is required.
- Experience working in optical setting is strongly preferred.
- Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrable success leading teams through difficult situations
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of health insurance regulations, basic medical procedures and medical billing
- Basic computer proficiency
- Excellent mentoring and managerial skills
- Ability to delegate to and support administrative staff.
- Confidence to enforce office policies and coordinate with management to resolve issues and suggest and implement procedural adjustments.
- Bilingual (Arabic, Polish, Spanish) strongly preferred.
