The clinical medical assistant/medical receptionist works closely with patients, physicians, certified nurse practitioners as part of a team in administering varied medical services in a pleasant, professional manner. The Medical Assistant/Medical Receptionist will be responsible for insurance verification, collecting copays, answering phones, scheduling patients and other duties as they are assigned. Therefore, the clinical medical assistant/medical receptionist is integral to shaping the patients' impression of Legend Health, which could shape the patient-provider relationship for the long-term.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Schedule medical procedures, draw blood, take patient medical histories, update patient medical files, take blood pressure and body temperatures, administer electrocardiograms, instruct patients on proper usage of medications, schedule hospital admissions, phone in prescriptions to various pharmacies, collect lab specimens, sterilize medical instruments, assist during minor procedures, perform lab tests, surgical procedure setups, pap setup, perform ear irrigations, insurance verification, collect copays, answer phone, schedule patients, etc.
Minimum requirements
1. Verifiable recent past clinical medical assistant experience
2. Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
3. Prefer Associate’s Degree
4. Ability to perform Essential Job Functions
5. Punctual and reliable
6. Pleasant, professional, and congenial
7. Ability to multi-task
8. Insurance verification, collecting copays, answering phones, scheduling patients and
other duties as they are assigned.
9. Clean background – candidate should have positive professional references.
10. Efficient and accurate medical skills
11. Ability to work as part of a team, but follow through independently
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 per hour
