Rates up to $21.16 an hour
Med Tech, Personal Care (FT, 3:00pm-11:30pm, E/O weekend and holiday required)
Primary Function: To provide a variety of patient care duties including administering medication, reporting changes, and collecting samples and recording medication dosages.
Qualifications: Med Tech certification required and NA caregiver certification preferred. A minimum of 1 year experience in a long term care (LTC) community. The ability to comprehend oral instructions, good communication skills and a positive attitude. Experience caring for resident with dementia is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide care as assigned by charge nurse in a safe, confident, effective, and timely manner.
2. Respond to call bells within a 5-minute time frame, providing or obtaining assistance requested. Employee should respond to call bells even if the resident is not part of their assignment.
4. Participate in care planning by:
- Recognizing and reporting changes in residents’ physical, psychological, and social well-being to the change nurse.
- Suggesting solutions to identified care concerns.
- Providing information for evaluating care approaches.
- Participate in Care Plan meeting, where possible.
5. Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to patients.
6. Record medication dosages and times.
7. Observe patients and document changes in their condition.
8. Gather samples for analysis using all proper protocols and procedures including proper labeling.
9. Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned.
10. Uphold all health and safety standards.
11. Maintain med cart in the prescribed orderly manner.
