Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Read and follow blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other instructions
  • Measure parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers
  • Operate overhead crane and fork trucks while moving or assembling product
  • Perform simple to moderately complex welding operations and plasma cutting
  • Prepare parts for painting
  • Keep work area clean
  • Infrequent overnight travel when needed

Requirements:

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide and to make metric system conversions
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and manufacturing instructions
  • Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and machine tools such as drill press, band saw, cut-off saw, and grinder
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry and pneumatics a plus
  • Proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and the ability to work in high output environment
  • Ability to work independently or in team environments
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when needed. Some infrequent overnight travel may be necessary.

Protective Clothing and Physical Demands

  • The incumbent will utilize safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, safety shoes while performing the functions of this position
  • While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, reach above shoulders, and use foot/feet for operation
