Job Summary:

This position operates both inside and in an outside construction environment diagnosing and repairing vehicle systems including Front End Loaders, Excavators, and Fleet Hauling Trailers. The Mechanic will also perform preventative maintenance and courtesy checks, operate diagnostic equipment, and maintain each vehicle’s service record. Other duties include coordinating, scheduling work, organizing, and providing top expertise for complex repair requirements.

Essential Functions:
1. Coordinate and schedule work
2. Diagnose and repair vehicle systems
3. Manage and plan preventive maintenance and courtesy checks for trailers and heavy equipment
4. Operate diagnostic equipment, as necessary
5. Maintain vehicle service records
6. Operate lifts, air tools, lathes, and mill work machines that refinish valve seals along with special equipment to mount and dismount tires
7. Work with hazardous solvents and a great assortment of hand tools

Requirements, Education and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience as a Mechanic, preferred
  • Excellent diagnostic skills
  • Up-to-date with new technical information and techniques
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, pulling, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion. This position operates in both an inside and outside construction environment.
