We are currently seeking Materials Management Manager Associate to join our team! To oversee activities related to the purchase of material, material control, inventory control, shipping/receiving and stores functions.

Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for the material inventory and the movement of material within our processes to ensure that material is available to support the daily build schedule for our assembly line.
  • Other duties include safety metrics within the department, reviewing work assignments, training, coaching and mentoring employees, assuring that all processes are adequate and being followed, communicating and working with other departments such as quality, engineering, 3rd party logistic contractors and production to assure the efficient production of medium and heavy duty trucks at the Springfield Assembly Plant.
  • Responsible for overseeing the activities related to the purchase of material, material control, shipping/receiving and stores functions for a production line that manufactures medium to heavy duty trucks.
  • Responsible for ensuring that materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements, while maintaining acceptable levels of inventory, developing material schedules and coordinating the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
  • Also responsible for reviewing planned requirements for the purchase of materials, preparing material requirements plans by using assorted materials planning software.
  • Responsible for selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functions of the materials organization.
  • Responsible for safety, quality, training and evaluation of supervisory staff and represented employees.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 6 years of materials management or supply chain experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
  • Master’s degree
  • At least 4 years of materials management or supply chain experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
OR
  • At least 8 years of materials management or supply chain experience
  • At least 1 year of lead experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
