PRIMARY PURPOSE: To inspect yacht and recreational marine vessels, as well as cargo damaged in transit, and determine the nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents to determine when damages were sustained; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.
Florida-based candidate must possess marine industry experience, with experience surveying damage to recreational marine/yachts, including experience preparing reports as to damage, repairs, and estimates/appraisals for such work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects damaged yachts, recreational marine vessels, and ships to determine cause of the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions, motor failures, and other incidents.
- Oversees loading and unloading of cargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports the organization's quality program(s).
- Travels as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
