Overview

Support production by operating, cleaning and performing light maintenance on several large, specialized machines that process a wide range of real-world materials such as soils, cements, rocks and minerals. The Production Specialist will also be responsible for final packaging including laser engraving, cleaning, labelling, and packaging finished products. Complete work orders to ensure the production schedule is followed and orders are completed on time. Ensure the quality and accuracy of finished orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capable of following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Process real world materials through use of specialized machinery including rock crushers, sieves, blenders, and bottling splitters.
  • Process materials using other specialized equipment as necessary.
  • Clean all equipment thoroughly between runs
  • Ensures completion and quality products through the use of templates and training
  • Finish final products including labeling and packaging
  • Provides input for enhancing efficiencies and modifying/creating SOPs to ensure accuracy/quality or improve productivity.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and delegate. Leadership skills a plus.
  • Work on different projects simultaneously
  • Cross-train in multiple work-centers
  • Establish and maintain effective team relationships with all departments Supervise machinists and production personnel
  • Ensure all work areas are safe, clean and organized at all times
  • Maintain procedures consistent with LGC’s Quality System
  • Continually improve procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain and control inventory of components using our ERP system
  • Exemplify the LGC core values on a day to day basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Maintain and monitor equipment as needed

Education and/or Experience

  • Ability to identify metal alloys by appearance (weight, color, hardness, etc.)
  • Ability to find and maintain proper orientation of cast metal disks through the manufacturing process
  • Ability to identify various geological materials
  • Must be able to read and understand safety signs and guidelines for equipment.
  • Strict attention to proper safety practices
  • Identify and recommend process and safety improvements where applicable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Photoshop)
  • Associates degree with exposure to IT, CIS, Science; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferred
  • Microsoft Officeskills and ERP system familiarity required
  • 2 production experience preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred
