General Purpose and Scope of Position:
Wilbur-Ellis is seeking a manufacturing team member to become a part of our Manufacturing facility in San Joaquin, CA. This role will efficiently work as a part of a team to assemble crop protection products. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to repetitively bend and lift boxes and bags up to 70 lbs. (at a rate of up to 3 units per minute for 2 hours) while working in a non-climate-controlled area
- Safety first attitude
- Team Player with a positive outlook, willing to work multiple shifts and willingness to work overtime hours during busy seasons
- Basic math understanding and manipulation
- Able to distinguish colors
- Must be able to write Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
- Ability to run the Bagger/Heat Sealer efficiently, if applicable to the location.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Must be punctual and on time for work
- Ability to work in an environment that has a moderately loud noise level
- Safely operate material handling equipment as required.
Training Required
- Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- All Position Specific SOP Training Requirements, specific to the location
- Fully successful in performing and demonstrating tasks and skills required of a Plant Operator II or equivalent prior experience.
Certifications Required
- All required WE EHSS Certifications
- Must be deemed competent by a thoroughly trained operator
- Must have Valid Forklift Certification OSHA Compliant and Validate every 3 Years.
- Personal Protective Equipment Certification
General Daily Job Scope
Batch Plant Operation
- Properly interpret, and follow manufacturing blend sheets
- Accurately and efficiently mix batches to ensure quality.
- Properly label all containers
- If applicable to the location, stack Pallets efficiently to reduce instances of torn bags and leaning pallets. Provides space for continued Production.
- Work with the Plant Lead/Supervisor/Manager on awareness and management of any contaminated loads
- Neatness and attention to detail on all paperwork, and seeing that it all returns to the office for processing
- Daily Maintenance and Cleanliness of all plant equipment and plant
- Responsible for producing sulfur from bulk storage in a safe and efficient manner in order to optimize production, if applicable to the location
- Identify raw materials correctly.
- Complete quality control measures on every batch
- Record all batch information
- Contact and work alongside the chemist on any off-spec blends
- Coordinate with purchasing agent all ordering and scheduling of incoming bulk fertilizer deliveries.
Compensation and Benefits:

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $21.63 - $27.40 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
