Position Summary 2nd shift and 3rd shift position ( 2nd shift hours 2:30pm.- 11:00p.m.) (3rd shift hours 10:30pm.- 7:00a.m.) Must be willing to work overtime as required. Performs preventive maintenance, maintenance and repair work to maintain and enhance buildings, facilities, machines and equipment. Organizes and determines repair and maintenance procedures and priorities, and proceeds with minimum supervision and direction.
*Performs preventive maintenance, maintenance and repair work to maintain and enhance buildings, facilities, machines and equipment. *Performs rigging, moving and erecting all types of machine tools and equipment for new installations or plant layout changes. *Dismantles and reassembles complex machines, including but not limited to CNC machine tools, undergoing repairs and overhauls. *Diagnoses and corrects mechanical, electrical and electronic troubles to involve repairs and replacement of circuit boards, monitors, controls, motors, switches, devices, etc. *Replaces and fits bearings, bushings, gears, shafts, etc., using a broad range of hand and machine tools. *Makes all proper adjustments to ensure accurate and efficient operations. *Performs building maintenance duties of electrical, heating and cooling, carpentry and plumbing. *Organizes and determines repair and maintenance procedures and priorities, and proceeds with minimum supervision and direction. *Assists Plant Engineer with ordering maintenance supplies and spare parts, and participates in troubleshooting involving machine tool manufacturers. *Requires judgment above and beyond limitations of general methods and standards. *Works from drawings, sketches, specifications and instruction manuals. In the absence of drawings, specifications or instructions proceeds with own conceptions. *Uses advanced shop mathematics and a variety of measuring devices which require interpretation in various applications. *Uses variety of mechanical and electrical tools to perform work. *May do welding and brazing when required. *Performs proper and safe material handling utilizing bridge and overhead hoists with lifting devices, and a variety of forklifts. *Maintains a high degree of quality, quantity and safety, and keeps work area clean. *Participates in Targets Program by continuous self improvement and by submitting and implementing cost reductions within, but not limited to, own position. *Participates in work team environment. *Performs these and other duties as requested by Supervisor.
-High School Diploma or GED equivalent. -Completion of State Indentured Apprenticeship or 2 year Technical College degree in Machine Tool Repair or equivalent preferred. - 5 or more years of machine repair experience - Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. - Requires the use of advanced mathematics. - Requires strong blueprint reading skills. - Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player. Physical Demands & Work Environment - Employee is required to sit, stand, and walk on a daily basis on a daily basis throughout the employee’s shift. - Ability to lift, move equipment/material/supplies weighing 50 pounds or more on a daily basis throughout employee’s shift. - When production equipment/material/supplies are needed by assembly, or to fill production orders employees will be required to balance, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, pull, push, squat, or stoop on a daily basis throughout the employee’s shift. - Employee will need to use arms, fingers and hands to handle, feel, or grab equipment/materials/supplies on a daily basis throughout the employee’s shift. - The noise level in the work environment is high, and therefore optional hearing protection is available.
