POSITION DESCRIPTION

Janicki Industries is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with machining experience to join our engineering team. An ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an aptitude for machining processes, and should be technically knowledgeable of a wide range of manufacturing aspects. This wide ranging role incorporates various manufacturing tasks, with an emphasis in machining, to the traditional project engineering duties. Ideal candidates would be eager to learn and work through complex engineering challenges in a collaborative environment. Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for all activities that are carried out to successfully complete an assigned project. Activities may include interaction with customer and development of SOW, design work, schedule management, manufacturing process development, and manufacturing support.

The following essential job functions are performed:

• Works directly with the customer and internal technical teams to ensure progress on all stages of project lifecycle.
• Communicates, consults with, and participates in design and manufacturing support.
• Helps to develop and release planning and purchases supplies.
• Maintains an overview of production processes and facilities and work with Management and Production personnel to develop and implement improvements for optimal results
• Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets.
• Works directly with the customer technical team to determine detailed requirements and deliverables, communicates or presents to customer on project status or health.
• Directs and participates in engineering activities, including design and drafting, engineering reviews, and work order preparation.
• Responsible for assuring materials are organized and ready for manufacturing, including carrying out purchasing activities.
• Interacts frequently with shop floor to ensure project health; may have daily presence on shop floor.
• Completes and understands all quality requirements for projects.
• Manages project scope and performs risk assessments.
• Monitors and reports project financial performance.
• Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
• Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Engineering Technology, Industrial Design Technology, or a similar field is required.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products; some experience with Catia, NX Unigraphics, and SAP is desirable
• A combination of Extensive work experience, (10+ Years) and other education may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Must be familiar with a variety of the fields' concepts, practices and procedures
• Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Salary range for this role is between $68,000 - $148,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
