· The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.

Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

· Manufacturing Engineer within the machining team. Will be solely responsible for several sections or assigned co-ownership of several sections.

Typical task breakdown:

· Will be working toward People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics for sections/value streams. These goals are achieved by setting up/monitoring work class processes and machining good parts.

Interaction with team:

· This contractor will be assigned to the Machining manufacturing engineering team and will work closely with shop floor supervisors, team leads, operators, auditors, and other ME’s.

Work environment:

· This role will be 60% on the shop floor and 40% in the office (meetings and computer work)

Education & Experience Required:

· Preferred – 4-year degree in engineering or similar field. If they don’t have a degree, we would hope they would have a technical degree or machining certificate and 2 years’ experience.

Technical Skills

(Required)

· Strong machining background. Large machine experience.

(Desired)

· Large machine experience, CAD/CAM experience, programming experience.

Soft Skills

(Required)

· The ability to work with others, computer, and communication skills.

· Not having the minimum desired qualifications.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
