Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager is a member of the Leadership Team in Raleigh, NC. The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring a business can efficiently source raw materials and supplies, store inventory, and transport shipments. Duties include analyzing logistics data to refine the supply chain, negotiating business relationships and communicating with suppliers and distributors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Leadership and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
• Employs and teaches lean supply chain methodologies in support of the plant’s continuous improvement program
• Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain and in support of the plant’s strategic initiatives
• Collects and collates short and long-term demand inputs from all customers to build site master production schedules
• Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located at the site and at the 3PL
• Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company
• Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes
• Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution
• Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials
• Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies
• Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
• Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments

Candidate Qualifications/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
• Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) are highly preferred
• 4+ years of experience in Supply Chain and a minimum of 2+ years in a Leadership role
• Application of procedural best practices in Supply Chain Management
• Demonstrated proficiency in lean manufacturing / lean supply chain management
• Ability to lead, train and mentor employees individually and as a team
• Subject Matter expertise with ERP Systems
• Familiarity with safety regulations, including those outlined by the OSHA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate with vendors
