Summary
This position assists in planning, day to day management and enhancement of our Medical Information Center (MIC) operations The Manager is accountable for ensuring the MIC is providing the highest quality customer service in an efficient and compliant manner, and for implementing improvements in MIC customer engagement, operations, call center metrics, and the procurement of customer insights. The Manager collaborates closely with other MI&E staff on scientific content development and other Medical Information/MIC related work, to enable the MIC to respond to unsolicited inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner and assure ongoing feedback from the MIC on scientific content needs. This position is also responsible for assisting with new projects and initiatives.

Assist in strategic planning and capabilities development of the MIC, ensuring alignment with MIE overall strategies, objectives and vision.
Analytics and Reports
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, services and performance of the MIC.
- Maintain open, frequent communications with the MIC
- Provide guidance to MIC staff as needed
- Lead or participate in routine meetings with MIC management and staff
- Monitor MIC operations and performance to ensure timely, compliant inquiry handling
- Monitor and enhance MIC’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for service levels
- Conduct QA monitoring on inquiry handling and documentation
- Develop and maintain routine analytics/reports
- Respond to audits
- Generate reports required by compliance
- Monitor MI systems
- Assist in systems enhancements; work in conjunction with Information Technology (IT) as needed
- Support the maintenance and refinement of the MI website
- Manage MIC forecasting, staffing adjustments and contracts
- Implement best practices for MIE/MIC collaboration
- MIE liaison with CSPV, Commercial QA, GMA, Public Affairs etc. for matters related to the MIC
Assist in strategic planning and capabilities development of the MIC, ensuring alignment with MIE overall strategies, objectives and vision.
- Lead/Co-lead DSI’s MIC Governance Committee, including but not limited to attending Committee meetings; ensuring completion of action items by Committee members; Committee planning; correction of MIC deficiencies by the Committee in partnership with the MIC; assuring effective Committee oversight of adverse events (AE), product quality complaints (PQC) and Medical Inquiry processing by the MIC and participating/leading Committee site visits. The Manager is responsible for collaborating with other functions, vendors and co-promote partners when applicable regarding the MIC’s work in connection with such vendors and/or co-promote partners. The Manager, with input and guidance from the Head of MIE, is also responsible for supporting Committee responsiveness to MIC audits and inspections and related corrective action and preventive action (CAPA) completion.

- Planning scientific content development
- Timely and appropriate handling of escalated inquiries
- Planning and executing MIC training
- Optimizing MIC services/customer engagement and satisfaction
- Improving inquiry management processes
- Innovative approaches to providing medical information
Analytics and Reports
- Develop and refine robust MIC analytics and reporting capabilities
- Develop standard, routine MIC reports for internal stakeholders
- Develop MIC’s customer insight capabilities and reports
Education Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)
- PharmD required
Experience Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Information role strongly preferred, including experience working in a Medical Information Center. preferred
Travel
Ability to travel up to 10% Ability to travel to scientific congress and the MIC.
