Major Gift Strategist Job at Arrow Child and Family Ministries
As our Major Gifts Strategist, you will assist with the design, development and implementation of our major gift program and report to the Chief Relations Officer. You will be responsible for managing and cultivating relationships with existing major gift prospects, as well as identifying new prospects, and establishing relationships for and with the Chief Relations Officer and CEO. You will be expected to develop strategies, persuade prospects and persevere to the end while moving donors to a deep connection with Arrow's mission and vision. An ability to empathize with donors and clearly communicate our organization's mission is key.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Help our donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions through a relationship with our organization.
- Secure major gifts at the $25,000 to $250,000 level with the goal of raising $250,000 annually in unrestricted funds.
- Manage and grow existing portfolio to 25 high level donors and prospects.
- Work with the development department to align efforts and set goals.
- Assist with creating and implementing moves management plans.
- Make direct, face-to-face solicitations, and assist the Chief Relations Officer, CEO, the board and other staff with their solicitation.
- Acknowledge major donors through public and private recognition.
- Track and report progress using specific metrics.
- Draft Chief Relations Officer report on a weekly basis with updates regarding prospects activity, and relevant status updates.
- Conduct prospect research to identify new areas for funding nationally.
- Work with Development Associate to ensure proper donor database management of records.
- Prepare customized acknowledgement letters for awarded grants.
- Assist with organizing and updating proposal resources for use by leadership team(s),
- Work collaboratively with development colleagues to plan and implement goals of Development and Marketing team.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of bachelor's degree required; certification in related development fields preferred.
- Four years or more of development experience required with demonstrated success in funds awarded.
- At least three years' work experience in a communications, marketing, or public relations preferred.
- Excellent communication through written and verbal presentations, interpersonal, management and computer skills required with attention to detail.
- Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
- Must work well in a team setting and be self-motivated, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Must possess ability to build relationships, manage messages delivered, and close the prospect.
- Ability to monitor and meet income goals.
- CRFE accreditation preferred.
