SummaryWe are looking for someone to fill a vacant position of Maintenance Technician for the Elkmont Hatchery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of electrical experience
- Must have a basic knowledge of plumbing
- Must have a wide range of mechanical skills
- Must have good carpentry skills
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to communicate and interact with a broad range of employees and contractors
- Must be self-motivated and able to work by yourself or supervise a small crew
- Must be a problem solver
- Must be capable of adapting to changes and completing tasks in a timely manner
- Must be capable of adhering to all biosecurity rules
- Must be able to work flexible hours and on call 24/7
Duties:
- Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and electronic components
- Troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting and repair of plumbing (gas and water systems)
- Build and repair of structures
- Fabricate using various materials
- Respond to service calls 24/7
- Maintain bio-security and animal welfare requirements when applicable
