Position: Maintenance Technician
Position Type: Full Time
The maintenance technician performs a variety of tasks at our facility in Norwood, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and carry out necessary repairs/replacements to the organization’s facilities including repairs on small boats, trailers, vehicles and forklift
- Organize, clean and maintain facility including equipment, vehicles, and tools and building.
- Operate forklift, trucks with trailers, and/or overhead crane.
- Procure required shop and warehouse supplies locally and through internet order.
- Preparing scientific equipment for outgoing shipment and incoming maintenance after project return.
- Loading and unloading trucks carrying equipment and supply deliveries.
- Perform packing, shipping and receiving tasks.
- Maintain the security and cleanliness (equipment, vehicles, tools) of the warehouse.
- Run errands using company vehicles, to pick up supplies etc. when needed.
- Transport various items (tools, equipment, supplies) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required for projects.
- Use computer for entry and retrieval of information for work assignments.
- Maintain accurate records and reports using internal data management system.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Certifications / Licenses:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- High school diploma or equivalent degree required.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have good working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Welding skills a plus.
- Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work will frequently require individual to push, pull, bend, stand or sit/drive for long periods of time.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Highly motivated individual with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
- Valid clean driver’s license, with no DUI/DWI record required.
- Legally authorized to work in the US, without restriction.
