The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on CNC machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations and manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications. They are also responsible for troubleshooting malfunctions and repair where necessary.
Opportunity Details:
As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for:
- Receiving work orders, identifying faulty equipment, and acquiring parts and equipment to complete repairs.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, installing and maintaining production equipment from basic hydraulic equipment to complex CNC machinery, performing both electrical and mechanical work.
- Completing projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades, calibrations, and retrofits.
- Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, level, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
- Preparing mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Reviewing production specifications, identify and report capacity restraints.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Maintaining and acquiring new technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications and establishing personal networks.
- Controlling downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs used in electrical and mechanical maintenance technician work assignments.
- High ability to to analyse, troubleshoot, and perform repairs.
- Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required; or 6 months industry related experience and/or training.
- Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machine maintenance is ideal but not required.
- 5+ years of equipment maintenance in a machine shop environment is required.
- Experience with CNC repair and/or robotics is required.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office knowledge and/or Computerised Maintenance Management System is desired.
