What’s the Job?

In this hands-on technical leadership role for the CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Corner Production Plant, you will manage an assigned team of professional maintenance personnel and collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and engineering partners to enable and ensure maximum equipment and facilities capacity, efficiency and productivity. The incumbent should be highly competent and comprehend complex operations and must be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing costs and sustaining employee wellbeing. Additionally, you will work on and lead capital projects and continuous improvement activities.

• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Improve plant availability, asset utilization, efficiency and capability by implementing proven professional maintenance and reliability centered maintenance techniques.
• Open and strong promotion of accountability with a focus on training and gaining knowledge for self and staff.
• Oversee trades and crafts daily work such as welding and fabrication, machining, and electrical.

What do you bring?

• 7+ years professional experience in progressive roles with knowledge of plant engineering/maintenance disciplines. Practical experience with equipment and facilities infrastructure, safety regulations and practices, and supporting production in a continuous 24/7 manufacturing environment. An undergraduate or technical degree with less experience may be considered.
• 5+ years managing of personnel in a manufacturing environment demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail and personnel development.
• Experience with crafts and trades roles such as welding fabrication, machining, and industrial electrical.
• Electrical licensing preferred but not required.
• Experience with continual improvement tools such as LEAN, TPM and Six Sigma.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of organization.
• Profound talents demonstrated in project management.
• Proficient with CAD software, practical knowledge of GD&T, comfortable creating, reading, and working from P&ID, Line Drawings, and other professional schematics, prints and drawings.
