  • Primary Duties/responsibilities: Responsible at trade practices level of performance, for inspecting, cleaning and lubricating pumps and related treatment machinery and equipment; operating, monitoring, and assisting in the repair of the various units of a treatment plant such a motors, valves, meters, gauges, and electrical plumbing, and heating equipment, and standby generation equipment; for testing, maintaining, and repairing service water meters; for safe and efficient operation of trucks, passenger vehicles, and other motor equipment, such as, heavy construction and maintenance equipment, specialized and complex construction and maintenance equipment and for performing assigned skilled and unskilled manual tasks in connection with these duties; for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling passenger vehicles, trucks, specialized construction and maintenance equipment, and other automotive or motorized equipment including accessories and appurtenances. Also responsible for the clean and orderly condition of the station and grounds.
  • Other specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: performing in ship tests, maintenance and repairs of domestic service water meters; assisting with field testing procedures, maintenance and repairs of large commercial and industrial. Compound meters; replacing, lowering and raising meter boxes; disconnecting damaged or inaccurate meters; repairing shutoff valves; repairing small leaks; and otherwise assisting in water service work.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Applies specialized skills and knowledge in the construction, maintenance, and repair of structures, building and equipment.
  • Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Appropriate licenses/certifications required as necessary.
