Who we are
At CDP, we are on a mission to solve our planet’s biggest environmental challenges: climate change, water scarcity and deforestation. We believe you can’t manage what you don’t measure – so we run the world’s largest environmental disclosure system. For the past two decades, our team has worked tirelessly to create a thriving economy that works for people and planet in the long term – we accomplish this by engaging the global actors who wield the greatest influence in driving environmental change: companies, cities, governments, and the capital markets.
CDP’s cascading global impact is powered by our tight-knit team of smart, savvy, curious and committed individuals, who share a common passion for creating a sustainable future. It is our people who make our work possible. And we provide our people with a working environment that empowers each individual to reach their full potential: one that is committed to equity; one that provides equal access for growth and development; and one that supports each individual throughout the full employee life cycle.
CDP North America is currently looking for a Senior Associate for CDP’s city and local government disclosure program, CDP-ICLEI Track. CDP is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong relationship management skills, as well as knowledge around the implications of climate change for cities, to join our public sector team in North America (US and Canada).

- You are knowledgeable about cities, climate action, and environmental justice and the intersections between them.

- You are adept at managing relationships with clients and partners.
- You can manage projects and are keen to innovate and improve existing processes.
- You can quickly absorb technical information and communicate it clearly and concisely.

Your day-to-day
- You will design and implement engagement strategies to drive participation in CDP disclosure from local governments (cities, counties, regional governments, etc.).
- You will support participants by answering questions about how to use the online reporting system and about diverse aspects of climate policy (greenhouse gas inventories, risk assessment, climate planning, and more).
- In collaboration with North America and global team members, you will develop and deliver services for participants, including 1:1 support calls (building on Response Check and Score Feedback models) and public webinars/workshop sessions.
- You will manage a team of part-time fellows when additional engagement team capacity is required.
- You will manage relationships with regional city-supporting partners and regional offices of CDP’s global partners, including but not limited to ICLEI, Global Covenant of Mayors, C40 Cities, WWF, and USDN.
