POSITION SUMMARY
To provide leadership and guidance to the school staff in implementing a comprehensive instructional reading program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works in cooperation with the individual school division staff to develop and implement a comprehensive school plan for literacy instruction.
- Provides leadership and guidance to the school staff in matters related to reading instruction to include conducting professional development and implementing division initiatives.
- Serves as a model for instructional and professional excellence.
- Meets with and works with the division level Title I Literacy Coach to prepare for training to be delivered to teachers, leads PALS building level training and oversees PALS assessments.
- Oversees the Title I budget with direction/guidance from the Principal/Building Administrator.
- Inventory the Title I materials/supplies and maintains federal documentation for building Title I program.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Candidate must possess a Virginia teacher license and a Masters Degree with a reading specialist endorsement.
