They influence all customer service, operations and team member job experiences in the department. This individual is self-motivated and requires limited direction to achieve their objectives. The position reports to the Store Director.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading the Wine, Beer and Spirits Department team to achieve sales and labor targets
- Guaranteeing a remarkable shopping environment including: friendly and helpful center-store team members who deliver exceptional customer service experiences, impeccable safety, sanitation and cleanliness conditions, in-stock products and accurate pricing/signing
- Communicating effectively with customers, team members, store management and other Rouses business partners and vendors
- Writing effective labor schedules
- Understanding legal minimum pricing and local regulatory guidelines
- Training and coaching Wine, Beer and Spirits team members
- Performing team member performance conversations
- Supervising completion of required department activities, such as ordering, cooler organization, price checks, and maintaining safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards
- Contacting vendors to request credits or other needs
- Following merchandising direction and creating visually appealing displays
- Monitoring use and maintenance of store equipment and facilities, communicating cooler temperature failure issues immediately
- Using web apps to access reports, email and other systems
- Completing required paperwork, forms, etc. accurately and on time
- Supporting new store openings, as directed
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of wine, beer and spirits products and operations
1+ years of experience in a retail wine, beer or spirits department
1+ years of experience in a team leadership role
Able to work a flexible schedule
Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Able to distinguish product quality and freshness standards
Able to stoop, squat, reach and maneuver to move product, boxes, bags, shelving, carts and equipment
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $14.00 per hour
