The Director Linehaul Operations will effectively manage and ensure the effectiveness of the Linehaul Operation at XGS, creating efficient routing and profitability margins within the Linehaul Operations department. Responsibilities:
Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment. Exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in all areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be careful while performing onsite services.

The Director Linehaul Operations will effectively manage and ensure the effectiveness of the Linehaul Operation at XGS, creating efficient routing and profitability margins within the Linehaul Operations department.
What you’ll be doing at XGS...
- Effective management and supervision of the day-to-day operation of linehaul and corporate purchased transportation function
- To act as a mediator/facilitator on any issues relating to effective and efficient linehaul operations that might develop between carriers, customers, and other departments within the company
- To provide Vice-President and Executive level management with continuous informational and service/financial reports as to the level of activity within the linehaul operations section of Operations
- To provide line-haul services at the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost
- Develop and implement an effective carrier network that enhances XGS’ position in the marketplace and improves operating performance
- Possess above average communication skills for internal/external application
- Understand the general nature of the airfreight integration/forwarding and floor covering industries
- Be an effective “team leader” to motivate internal staff to perform to the highest level possible
- Effectively staff and structure the Linehaul Operations staff for maximum possible effect
What is XGS looking for?
- Understanding of Supply Chain, airfreight integration/freight forwarding, and warehousing/distribution industries
- Understanding of Truckload Operational/Customer Service structure
- Above Average proficiency with internet-based communication and data transmission tools
- Four-year degree in transportation, logistics, or business preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience effectively managing LTL, purchased transportation, linehaul operations within expedited environment, or similar experience is required
- Familiarity of industry trends through professional contact and/or trade periodical literature is required
