Summary:
Under limited supervision, tends and maintains conveyor line for spray painting and packaging operations, including placing parts in proper sequence to assure no delay in packaging. Union Shop.Must be flexible due to Union bumping.
Job Duties:
- May be requested to use hand punch when necessary.
- Hangs parts on conveyor line for powder coating and packing operations.
- Maintains clean conveyor line, hooks, etc. to ensure clean and proper operation of line. Maintains metal washing machine for proper cleaning.
- Places proper amount of parts in sequence to assure no delay in packaging
- Use degreaser and/or sandpaper to clean excess grease, oil, rust parts for proper cleaning.
- Change hooks as required to assure correct hanging distance and proper order.
- Move material in and out of paint line area as required.
- May be asked to operate forklift and/or hand truck, if licensed.
- Required to help clean powder booth and equipment when needed to maintain efficiency, preventative maintenance and/or color changes.
- Must be able to remove components from the line and pack parts in a safe and orderly ways as to prevent damage to product.
- Hangs fiberglass on parts at proper location.
- Operate and maintain glue spray gun.
- Refers unusual problems to group leader/supervision.
- Work station must be kept clean and organized.
- Required to fill out job cards, data sheets and reports accurately and legibly.
- Performs other work as directed commensurate with this or lesser rated labor grades.

- Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals. Ability to compute rates and Read a Tape Measure.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Other Skills and Abilities: Must be able to keep pace with the speed of the line as to prevent line stoppage. Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Safety Requirements: Protective Footwear Ansi Z41 Class 75, hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, face shield, and neoprene or nitrile gloves when handling chemical cleaning solutions, cut resistant cloth, leather or Kevlar gloves (line feed and line take-off), cloth or leather gloves for handling fiberglass, approved particulate respirator, (fiberglass handling & gluing).
