Studio Diner, located in the Kearny Mesa area of San Diego, is the next best thing to Mom’s home cooking. We are a casual eatery that will bring you back to the good ole days of comfort food while taking a bite out of Hollywood.

Job Duties

• Prepares and produces menu items to standard in a quick and efficient manner.
• Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by Studio Diner.
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
• Controls food production in all work areas including proper cooking methods, proper cooking times and temperatures.
• Ensures quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping of the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.
• Work at an efficient and consistent pace.
• Arrive to work at the scheduled time.
• Perform other duties as assigned and as business dictates.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of prior cooking experience required.
• Local health department sanitation certificate. (Must have the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
• Demonstrated knowledge of food, quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation and safe food handling.
• Proficient culinary knowledge of “Classic American Diner” foods.
• Ability to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays.
• Must work as a team player and exhibit excellent chemistry amongst all staff.
• Will be required to attend training meetings and work-related seminars.
• Position spends 100% of the time standing.
