Join our team of professionals! Metric Engineering is searching for a Lighting Inspector for the Central Florida area.

This position requires either a high school diploma plus at least 2 years in roadway Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) or maintenance, one (1) year of which shall have included Lighting inspections OR a Civil Engineering Degree.

Experience in Intelligent Transportations Systems (ITS) and Signalization inspection and a strong electrical background is also preferred.

This position will be responsible for routine maintenance inspections of roadway lighting systems for Public agencies, including conventional, sign, underdeck, and other miscellaneous lighting infrastructure. This position will also be responsible for performing acceptance inspections of newly constructed lighting systems.

The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate will be required to document field observations and prepare a deficiency list to be transmitted to the responsible party for corrective action.

A firm understanding of CFX and FDOT policies and procedures is desired, including a working knowledge of Standard Specifications and Standard Plans for Road and Bridge Construction.

Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance inspections of roadway lighting systems.

Perform semi-final and final inspections of newly constructed lighting systems.

Responsible for inspecting lighting installations to ensure conformance with the plans, specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC) and other applicable requirements.

Reports to and acts as consultant representative for public agency(ies) to assist in oversight of the maintenance program for their roadway lighting system(s).

Responsible for overseeing and inspecting corrective actions taken by contractor.

Desired Qualifications
Working knowledge of large-scale roadway Lighting systems
Familiarity with Electrical Installations, including National Electric Code (NEC)

Pay: $58,240.00 - $83,200.00 per year
