Salary: $55,000.00 to $63,000.00

The Lead Intake Clinician is responsible for the screening and intake process for clients in all Tennyson Center or Children (TCC) programs. This role provides short-term case management and clinical assessment services to families for day treatment, community-based, and outpatient levels of care. They are responsible for providing clinical recommendations for ongoing services and for maintaining positive public relations with external partners. This position is also responsible for providing clinical supervision and oversite of non-licensed staff on the admissions team. This position reports directly to the Admissions Manager.

Essential Job Functions

  • Coordinates placement of clients in all TCC programs
  • Supports the screening process for incoming referrals to determine appropriateness for services, level of care, and fit within target population
  • Collects all pertinent information available on the referral, including psychological and psychiatric evaluations, Individual Education Plans, and past treatment reports
  • Provides clinical assessments of referred clients (children, adults, and families) to determine appropriateness of placement and to identify services required, including assessment within the client’s natural living/school environment when possible
  • Communicates with all relevant parties pre- and post- intake to ensure a smooth transition from one level of care to another
  • Ensures compliance of ongoing and timely documentation per all pertinent licensing and regulatory entities
  • Provides ongoing clinical supervision and support for other intake clinicians (non-licensed)
  • Collaborates with HR on hiring practices and supervises interns as needed

Other Job Functions

  • Provides client with an appropriate mental health diagnosis when needed
  • Cross functional collaboration within Tennyson’s team for placements and recommendations
  • Works with a variety of insurances and payer sources to obtain contracts and payment information
  • Connects referrals/clients to community resources as needed
  • Clinical review and approval of documentation for non-licensed staff

Physical Requirements

  • Minimal physical requirements. Ability to lift office equipment up to 5 pounds as needed. Ability to drive to and from appointments as needed

Working Conditions

  • Position may be remote up to 40% of the time
  • Work will be split between a general office environment and some work within the community; some work will be completed remotely via telehealth
  • Some local travel required for community-based intakes; up to 20% of the time

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field; current license as a LCSW/LPC/LMFT
  • 2+ years’ experience preferred working with children/families who have experienced trauma
  • Valid CO driver’s license
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
