The Landscape Account Manager serves as the primary contact for clients. They build and sustain long-term relationships, focusing on both client retention and ancillary sales, while providing oversight for field operations.

Job Duties:

  • Focus on safety and monitor safety records to ensure a safe environment for employees, clients and the general public.
  • Lead field operations. Supervise and train Laborers. Ensure crews work 100%, safely, and per instructions. Correct unsatisfactory work/behavior and praise beneficial behavior/accomplishments.
  • Strive for excellence through quality customer service, employee training, setting the standard for our teams, and being a role model for how teammates should operate on job sites. We have team oriented environment where everyone works together to ensure work is completed timely, yet safely as well. We take care of our clients, our equipment, and each other.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, focusing on both the main contact as well as the next level above and below. This allows you to better understand your clients, their current/future needs, and be to develop/create site enhancements that they would enjoy.
  • Manage the resolution of any issues or concerns that our clients may have.
  • Proactively present site enhancement ideas to existing customers by thinking innovatively, creatively, and outside of the box.
  • Generate referrals from existing client base.
  • Ensure branch financial goals met by maintaining acceptable gross margins for both base contract work and ancillary services.
  • Participate in branch meetings and assist the Regional Director in overall leadership of branch.
  • As necessary, perform hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demands.
  • Proactively communicate staffing needs to Regional Director and Human Resources Manager.
  • Implement and enforce policies and procedures related to proper upkeep, maintenance, storage, use, and training for landscaping equipment.
  • Work with the Regional Director to prepare daily crew schedules.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager to ensure paperwork is completed for all employee changes, new hires, employee reviews, and raises.
  • Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards.
  • Order materials as needed and monitor costs and deliveries.
  • Request purchase orders and use in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Submit proposals and bids for new clients and job orders.
Requirements:


  • Minimum five (5) years experience in managerial capacity in grounds maintenance industry. Demonstrated ability to make prudent hiring decisions, manage multiple work crews efficiently and effectively, maintain excellent client relations, and capture ancillary revenue from new and existing accounts.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lowcountry plants, trees turf-grass, and seasonality. Ability to develop planting plans and/or design remedial landscape improvements for existing landscapes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related field of study, or otherwise qualified by training and/or experience.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • An understanding of the difference between a leader and a manager. We promote leadership and comradery within our organization. Must have the desire to build teams and teach others.
  • Must have a team-oriented mindset and be a team player ; being willing to help out when needed.
  • Must be polished and understand how to proactively and clearly communicate with clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Need familiarity with landscaping dangers and how to manage accidents, injuries and employees. Safety must be a primary goal at all times.
  • Must be proficient with computer software, especially Microsoft programs. Any experience with ASPIRE a big plus!
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication skills and ability to motivate staff to achieve high quality standards and efficiency.
