Are you a people person with sharp technical skills and an outgoing and positive attitude? We are seeking an energetic, self-starter IT Systems Engineer to help us design and support the next generation of our store and corporate infrastructure.
IT Systems Engineers are the hands-on technology experts who support and continually improve our systems and infrastructure. They will be responsible for installation, configuration, support, and proactive maintenance of systems hardware, software and networking infrastructure. They build relationships, exhibit empathy, and provide a high-level of support to their sites, and keep them running in top shape.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the hands-on design, installation, and support on server and network infrastructure requests for hardware and software for showrooms and offices .
- Install and maintain networking cabling, switches, and Internet connections in a clean and organized manner
- Proactively monitor and keep servers and networks operational, acting swiftly to remediate any problems
- Actively communicate with IT staff to ensure awareness of your support or maintenance activities
- Implement IT infrastructure projects
- Propose innovative ideas and solutions to ensure technology enables the business to work more efficiently, either from a cost or productivity perspective
- Patch servers and infrastructure equipment
- Ensure disaster recovery processes are operational and systems are always resilient
- Ensure the IT employee & security policy is followed throughout the company
Qualifications:
- 1+ years installing, managing, and supporting Microsoft and/or Linux platforms and associated equipment
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP, and network equipment
- Able to learn quickly and think critically to solve problems
- Ability to see the bigger picture whilst maintaining an attention to detail
- Responsive to internal customers and able to explain technology in simple terms
- Approachable, showing humility and empathy towards users and their problems
- Ability to integrate easily and work closely in a small team
- Strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to travel occasionally across the United States
- Knowledge and understanding of systems networking
- Highly proactive, self-motivated, and takes initiative to improve everything they work on
