IT Support Specialist
Conley Media, a printing and publishing company in SE WI, is seeking a full-time IT Support Specialist that will be based out of our Waukesha location, with occasional travel to other SE Wis. offices. The ideal candidate will have abundant IT knowledge, be resourceful, be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people, and have a customer service centered attitude.
Responsibilities would include (but are not limited to):
- Troubleshoot and resolve email issues on a variety of clients, such as Outlook and IMail. Microsoft Exchange Server experience NOT required.
- AWS knowledge helpful but not required.
- Receive, configure and distribute new laptops and desktops running the Windows 10/11 OS. This includes configuring user information on Microsoft AD Server, moving applications as necessary, setting up remote directory shares, installing and configuring client-side email application(s), and delivering computer to User and verifying correct operation.
- Assist with and troubleshoot issues on a variety of mission-critical computer equipment and servers, including legacy Macintosh (10 + years in age), OSX server, Sierra OS, Catalina OS, Windows XP and Windows 7, as well as newer equipment including Windows 10/11 in a mixed environment. Knowledge of newspaper/magazine production systems and issues encountered such as Font compatibility and transport, Quark XPress, printers, pre-press hardware and software, RIPs, FTP, networking in mixed Mac/WIN environment, and image processing helpful. Have the ability to troubleshoot network and/or systems issues to respond to daily production environment with tight deadlines.
- Maintain regular backups of essential company data and verify integrity.
- Work with external data and phone system vendors to maintain, modify and upgrade systems as necessary.
- Assist remote office(s) with connection and data issues as necessary. Includes use of Remote Desktop and other remote administration tools.
Requirements:
- An associate degree in technology, computer science, or a related field. Must have proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or a similar role. Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies with occasional evening and weekend hours. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb or crawl in cramped or high places, and use small power tools or other machinery and equipment.
