Information Technology Specialist
Summary
The IT Specialist serves as the key contact for the day-to-day operations of Crawford Hoying's computer
systems and for ensuring that all IT systems are functioning effectively. This individual will also manage the
relationship with our third-party IT support services provider and will serve as the front-line support for staff
members' technical issues. A highly professional tone, appearance, and manner is both expected and
required, including calm, effective, and tactful communication in person and while on the phone. Duties vary
in scope, requiring significant judgment and experience to successfully accomplish tasks with limited direct
supervision. This position is based in the corporate office but may require driving to other company locations
from time to time.
Job Responsibilities (responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following)
- Lead computer support service delivery and system standards across the company
- Implement, document, and maintain the IT policies and procedures as defined by leadership
- Monitor the relationship with our third-party IT support services company to ensure timely and complete
resolution of helpdesk tickets, as needed
- Provide first-level maintenance of facility infrastructure, including the support of servers, network systems,
and relative applications
- Triage problems in an effort to assign and manage external resources and to ensure timely resolution of
all support issues
- Set up computers and workstations for new employees; update and maintain equipment for existing
employees
- Install and maintain peripheral devices, including printers, network hardware, and other equipment
- Analyze the business requirements of all departments to ensure their technology needs are being met
effectively
- Maintain security procedures to ensure company data and systems are secure
- Manage inventory procurement, including identifying, ordering, tracking, storing, and replacing computer
equipment in accordance with the enterprise refresh strategy
- Provide employees with basic training in the proper use of their provided hardware and software and
peripheral systems
- Work with HR to setup and maintain the accounts, user rights, and system access for current, future, and
former employees
- Stay current regarding new technologies, standards, and techniques
- Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in user technical support and IT systems maintenance
- Exceptional customer service skills and an ability to develop a rapport with coworkers
- Excellent working knowledge of computers, basic networking, and related systems
- Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
- Ability to respond to inquiries quickly, professionally, and tactfully
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
- Expertise with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and the Adobe Suite of software
- Self-starter mindset and an ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license
Work Environment
The IT Specialist works at the corporate office and interfaces with external and internal customers and vendors
throughout the day. Occasionally, this individual may need to travel to other company properties within the
workday. The hours for this position are typically 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The IT Specialist
must be available to work extra hours when important projects present themselves and must be available to
work an extended schedule as needed. The IT Specialist should be flexible and readily available depending
on the needs of the company.
Reporting Structure
The IT Specialist reports to the Vice President of Corporate Operations.
Physical Requirements
The IT Specialist's physical condition must be sufficient for the consistent and successful completion of the
responsibilities defined for this position. This position frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching
with hands and arms, and lifting up to twenty-five pounds. The IT Specialist must be able to drive during the
course of work
