For the Austin Campus, act as first and second level help desk support to students, staff and faculty, installing and maintaining all administrative and instructional microcomputers and peripherals. Also provide LAN administration, network support and workstation administration and distribution.

Job Description
- Provide expert advice and advanced trouble-shooting options for students, faculty, staff, and administrators with technology problems. This includes maintaining employee workstations and computer labs college-wide. Install and maintain software, printers and other peripherals (Mac and PC). Act as consultant to users in person and via our help desk ticketing solution.
- Acting as secondary network administrator, support network switches, wireless devices, telecommunications devices, and peripherals; install and maintain telecommunication wiring for the Austin Campus.
- Provide technical support for audio/visual/media/Zoom equipment and connectivity to the Austin campus faculty, students, staff and other facility users so that classes and meetings occur on-time and without interruption.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Computer Science, Networking, or similar discipline is required and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of:
- Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, Windows Server 2019 and above, Microsoft Office and Mac OS sufficient to install and maintain PCs.
- Network Security, Exchange, Active Directory and troubleshooting/maintaining/updating PCs, Macs and laptops.
- Troubleshoot and configure Cisco switches to set port speed and VLAN to enable usage for voice (VOIP Phones), data (computers and printers) and video services throughout the campus. Cable management of switches, phones and servers in our equipment rooms on server racks and punch-down panels.
- Troubleshoot with computer suppliers to repair computers and peripherals.
- Terminal emulation to communicate with and setup UPS devices, network switches and other devices.
Ability to:
- Perform hardware setups and software deployments throughout the campus.
- Provide technical support and administration of network components on multiple campuses.
- Maintain high standards of customer service when responding to requests, telephone calls and emails from Riverland Community College end-users of college IT systems.
- Identify, evaluate, prioritize and resolve a wide variety of IT hardware, software, and operational issues and technical problems.
- Provide personalized training on the use of applications in person, over the phone and via a remote application.
- Plan and coordinate the deployment of new technology and resolve technical problems individually and as a project participant or technical lead.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees.
- Monitor network switches using current monitoring software such as Cisco Prime.
- Work with computer suppliers to evaluate and recommend purchase of new models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful general technology problem solving and support activities in both the academic and administrative environments at a college or university.
- Knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Knowledge of MN Statutes and rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of MinnState System & Board policies
- Ability to align behavior with the organization’s needs, priorities, and goals
- Ability to encourage and facilitate cooperation among team members
- Experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.
