Responsibilities

The Armstrong Early Learning Center of Whitley County Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate part-time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our team. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Infant Assistant Teacher will be responsible for a YMCA preschool program that provides diverse participants with age-appropriate activities to promote a safe, fun, nurturing learning environment and memorable experiences with the YMCA.

  • Care: Supervise assigned groups of children and engage in positive staff-child interaction.
  • Develop: Promote a healthy, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical environment for each child.
  • Nurture: Success in this position is defined as growth in student participation and quality enrichment, sound adherence to defined safety and educational standards by the staff, and positive feedback from parents.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • At least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working in an early learning center or preschool is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation to attend work.
  • Able to fulfill all demands in spirit, mind, and body as an assistant teacher.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude with diverse groups of people regarding age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.


Salary:
Non-exempt Part time $13.50-$14.00 hourly

Shifts Available: Monday - Friday 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
