Senior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer:
The Senior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations. This position will work closely with the Plant Manager to provide oversight of manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manage facility-specific multi-million-dollar projects from design to implementation (new building, equipment acquisition/design) ·
- Assist Plant Management with existing business operations analysis in areas such as productivity standards and productivity improvements. ·
Process and Standards
- Coordinate with IT systems team to develop and maintains management information, planning, and control systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to processes, methods, equipment and facilities to improve efficiency, quality and production costs.
- Identify and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions. ·
Product Costing and Router Maintenance
- Oversee and upgrade product routing and costing system in coordination with finance and engineering teams
- Development of costing for custom and one-off products and plant services
- Coordinate with engineering in development and maintenance of routers and costing models for new and improved products
- Coordinate with finance team on development of cell-based costing algorithms ·
Equipment and Facilities
- Collaborates with plant management in the planning and execution strategies for new equipment and facility enhancements
- Coordinate with maintenance management on development of preventative maintenance programs
- Collaborates with plant management and engineering teams to design and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and procedures o Lead design, development, and testing of production automation/robotic prototypes and machines.
- Develop systems and processes to upgrade and maintain robotic software
- Ensures that all equipment operate safely, dependably and with precision; identifies and implements modifications. o Provides technical support and troubleshooting support for automated and robotic systems
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline
- Ten (10) to twelve (12) years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience ·
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a metal fabrication and welding environment preferred ·
- Experience with robotics a plus
CRITICAL SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: ·
- Strong project management, collaboration and supervision skills · General computer skills (Excel, AutoCAD) ·
- Ability to communicate effectively across functional groups (e.g., other department supervisors and shop personnel) with excellent communication skills both verbal and written. ·
- Working knowledge of standard concepts, safety practices and procedures within the metal fabrication industry. ·
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ·
- Strong planning and goal setting with attention to detail
