Southwire Job Description

Summary

The Industrial Engineer will provide Industrial Engineering support and guidance for the Building Wire Plant and interface with other areas of the organization to drive continuous improvement.

Duties and Requirements

Maintain Bill of Materials and routings for the Building Wire Plant.
Maintain cycle times and machine rates for the production floor
Understand standard cost and perform cost analysis for new products, product changes, and product rationalization
Work with a variety of systems including but not limited to SAP, CableBuilder and JIRA
Cost reduction analysis and tracking
Sales and Production data reporting
Capital project requests, justifications, and capital expenditure reporting
Plant layout design and efficiency determination
Quoting for new products as needed
Execute cost reduction projects as assigned by the materials manager


Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering required
Looking for a highly motivated and innovative individual
Strong knowledge and expertise of Industrial Engineering methods and concepts
Must have strong, analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent software skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
