Job Summary:
This position oversees the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems in factories, warehouses, production areas and other businesses. The electrician will test existing equipment and determine if components of a system need to be upgraded or replaced. They will check switches, motors, regulators and other parts of an industrial electrical system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Be able to read blueprints and electrical prints.
? When equipment on a factory floor runs into problems, it is up to Industrial Electricians to determine and correct the cause of these issues. They must be knowledgeable in troubleshooting problems with various types of test equipment, such as multi meters and lap top computer to understand why equipment is not working properly.
? Once a problem has been identified, Industrial Electricians must then use tools and replacement parts to make repairs to production and manufacturing machines. Industrial Electricians also conduct regularly scheduled maintenance on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis to keep machines running at they are intended and to avoid any down-time due to break-downs or improper operations.
? It is important for Industrial Electricians to document the repair and maintenance of industrial machines in the work order system. This is crucial information for managers to know in the event that machines need to be upgraded or replaced, there is a record of ongoing issues or proof that machines have been properly maintained. Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
? Candidates must have a high school diploma, vocational school certificate or GED.
? A Technical or Engineering degree is preferred.
Candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment electrical test.
? The candidate must have six or more years of Industrial electrician experience and/or a journeyman's card and be able to read electrical blueprints.
? The candidate must have experience in trouble shooting AC and DC drives, PLC's, motor control circuits and AC crane controls.
? The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must be computer literate and able to work with programs that control equipment Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
