Position Purpose: Aid in new development, improvement of and maintaining existing machine vision systems. Improvement of existing systems would include scrap reduction due to false rejects, data collection and publishing, and improvement of system reliability. Also possess skills to troubleshoot electrical controls and hardware of production lines across multiple facilities. In addition, specify and coordinate installation of facility security cameras as required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate and ensure a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with Company, OSHA, SQF, along with other standards and regulations.
• Aids in development, support, and improvement of existing machine vision systems, including the following:
• Specification or design of part handling and presentation methods for inspection
• Specification of camera type, including speed and resolution
• Specification of inspection lighting
• Development and programming of vision system to inspect parts, as well as gather data to aid in reducing defective parts in an ongoing effort to develop a closed loop system
• Daily monitoring of inspection effectiveness and scrap rates across all systems on floor
• Training of shift personnel as required increasing inspection effectiveness
• Aids in troubleshooting equipment problems, both electrical and mechanical.
• Specifies security cameras when required, facilitates installation and system maintenance.
• Facilitates design or purchase of capital equipment where applicable
• Recommends improvements to existing equipment and machinery where possible.
• Ensure the proper training and mentoring of current and new hire maintenance staff is completed per Double H expectations.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with your peers, team, and senior managers in order to communicate effectively, collaborate across departments, and strategically implement solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required knowledge and Experience:

• BS/BA in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing and technical vision systems programming experience.
• The individual must be a self-starter (ability to work independently) and have proficient use of hand tools.
• Must be able to oversee, direct and train people on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to perform assigned tasks.
• Must communicate effectively in all situations with strong written and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand on their feet routinely; stooping, squatting, and reaching can be expected along with lifting of up to 35 lbs. of machinery and parts. In addition, be able to work; with hot parts or equipment in a dusty area while wearing proper safety gear, and around oil and grease.

Safety: To maintain proper safety standards according to established Sanitary and Housekeeping Practices (GMP Compliance). Proper use of all safety equipment i.e.: proper use of personal protective gear including hairnets, gloves and safety glasses.
